October 18: Bagmati Province Government is set to spend Rs 18 million in Dolakha district under the Tourism Promotion and Infrastructure Programme in the current fiscal year. Shiva Sapkota, the chief of the Division Forest Office informed that the amount would be spent through the Division Forest Office for 10 different programmes.

According to Sapkota, up to Rs 3 million has been allocated under the programme at various local levels of the district. Out of the allocated amount, Rs 3 million has been allocated for the construction of infrastructure at Kotihome religious site in Bhimeshwor Municipality-3. Similarly, Rs 2 million has been allocated for the construction of Buddha Park in Baiteshwor Municipality-6, Rs 2 million for construction of historic Golma Raja-Golma Rani Chhorten in Shailung Municipality, Rs 2 million for construction of footpath in Furkesalla-Shailung of Melung Municipality-4 and Rs 2 million for construction of footpath in Kalidevi-Deurali Gadhi of Tamakoshi Municipality.

Similarly, Rs 1.5 million has been set aside for construction of cultural footpath in Sankhola Chowk, Rs 1.5 million for Pandav Park in Bhimeshwor Municipality-4, Rs 1.5 million for Tamakoshi-Deurali-Hile Footpath in Tamakoshi Municipality, Rs 1.5 million for construction of Bhadrawati Kunda and Rs 1.5 million for construction of Deurali Picnic Park in Bhimeshwor Municipality-6, according to Division Chief Sapkota.

Under the title of National Forest Conservation and Management, Rs 13.6 million has been allocated for programmes like fruit farming, bamboo planting, environment protection and urban forest programme. However, Division Chief Sapkota said that there has been a problem in moving forward with the programmes as the Division Forest Office does not an engineer. He said that the office is in touch with the concerned ministry to resolve this issue.
