Chairman Thapa informed that preparations have been made to bring the four buses in the first phase to operate them within April. "The Chinese company has already started the process of sending the bus to Nepal," he said. <br />
At present, the company is operating three electric buses along the Ring Road and one on the Bhaktapur-Ratnapark route. </span></span></p>

The company has said it will build a charging station in the meantime. The company currently has three charging stations – one each at Sitapaila, Chabahil, and Sukedhara.<br />
The government has been struggling to operate electric buses itself. The government, which had earlier given the responsibility to Sundar Yatayat for the purchase of 300 electric buses in July 2020, later withheld the money saying that the company could not buy the buses on time. After holding the money for one year, the government in January authorized Sajha Yatayat to procure the buses. “At present, we are preparing tenders for buying the buses,” said Kanak Mani Dixit, chairman of the public transport company.</span></span></p>
