PM Oli said that once the irrigation facility is available, the food grains produced in those districts will not only be sufficient for Nepal and will also be in excess for export. </span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman"">The water of Sunkoshi from the project will be discharged into the Marin River at the rate of 67,000 liters per second. This water will then be released into the Bagmati River to provide irrigation facility. Under this project, a 158-meter long barrage, 150-meter long descending basin and 13.3 km long tunnel will be constructed from Khurkot of Sindhuli over the Sunkoshi River. </span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman"">The electricity generated from the project will be connected to the national grid through a 44 km long transmission line through the substation at Nawalpur in Sarlahi. The project is expected to be complete in FY 2082/83. </span></span></span></span></p>
