<p><span style="font-size:20px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">According to the state-run national news agency – Rastriya Samachar Samiti – the president appointed Khatiwada to the post as per Article 78, Section 1 of the constitution upon the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is currently undergoing kidney transplant at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:20px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Khatiwada had resigned from his post after his term as an upper house member had expired on Tuesday.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:20px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The president has also assigned the portfolio of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.</span></span></p>
