May 31: Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has expressed mixed reaction to the new budget unveiled recently by the finance minister for the upcoming fiscal year 2019/20. May 31: Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has expressed mixed reaction to the new budget unveiled recently by the finance minister for the upcoming fiscal year 2019/20. HAN has appreciated the budget allocation for the tourism sector but has said that the government has not given priority to the ‘Visit Nepal Year 2020’.</p>

HAN claimed that the government has failed to bring budget and programmes as expected to make the Visit Nepal Year more fruitful. Nevertheless, it said that the government’s plan to develop MICE tourism, adventure tourism, agro tourism, rural tourism is praiseworthy.</p>
<p>
The association has also urged the government to promote traditional Nepali cuisine in flights carried by the national flag carrier of Nepal and during official functions and feasts organised by Nepal’s embassies abroad.</p>
<p>
It also suggested the government to implement its programme related to upgrading airports, and national highways. </p>
