Exporters say they have opted for illegal means since the Indian authorities started harassing them even after providing all the necessary documents.</p>

According to the tea entrepreneurs of eastern Nepal, a large quantity of tea produced in the region is exported this way. They claim that the customs offices have no record of the illegal trade.</p>
<p>
Milan Giri, one of the tea exporters, argues that the Indian side gives them unnecessary trouble because tea produced in Nepal have started taking the market of Indian product.</p>
<p>
“They hold our consignment for at least a week under various pretexts because our products have started taking their market,” said Giri.</p>
<p>
“They hold the cargo truck even if we provide them all the required papers,” he added.</p>
