May 6: Many places in the hill districts have high potential to develop into hill stations. However, the places are not getting enough attention from investors due to lack of proper infrastructure and clear provisions in the law.</p>

According to President of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), CN Pandey, NATTA has been making effort to develop the places as hill stations since a long time. For this, the government should make effort to develop proper infrastructure, and have clear vision and criteria for investment.</p>

“The private sector is keen to invest in hill stations,” said Pandey, adding, “Tourism entrepreneurs and local bodies have even promoted hill stations on their own initiation.”</p>
<p>
President of Nepal chapter of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Sunil Sakya, said that the government should make proper arrangements and form rules and regulation to promote the concept of hill station.</p>
<p>
He said that any hill could be developed into a hill station, which will serve as an attractive tourism destination, but the infrastructures like road, electricity, internet among others are the basic requirements for this.</p>
<p>
Sakya said that all seven provinces should select at least 10 hills for turning them as hill stations and move forward to promote the stations.</p>
<p>
According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the hill areas of the country have high scope to turn into hill station. NTB added that it is ready to make arrangement at policy level if the private sector requests to make efforts for establishing hill stations. </p>
