<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">May 3: Finance Minister Yuva Raj Khatiwada has underscored the need of economic cooperation and financial interdependence to boost the economy of South Asia for the welfare of people and prosperity of the region. He made such remarks while addressing the 13<sup>th</sup> meeting of the finance ministers of SAARC region during the 52<sup>nd</sup> board of governors annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Fiji on Thursday, May 2. </span></p>
<p>
<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">Minister Khatiwada claimed that South Asia has a good reputation in the world economy but the region lags behind due to lack of inter-country road connectivity. He further said that the inter-country trade could have been increased up to three times had there been good network of roads to link the regional countries but due to lack of proper road connectivity, the trade between the countries is minimal.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He also informed the meeting that Nepal has achieved a historic feat by maintaining economic growth of more that 6 percent for three consecutive years.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He said that it was normal to bear trade deficit when the country has been achieving high economic growth rate.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">May 3: Finance Minister Yuva Raj Khatiwada has underscored the need of economic cooperation and financial interdependence to boost the economy of South Asia for the welfare of people and prosperity of the region. He made such remarks while addressing the 13<sup>th</sup> meeting of the finance ministers of SAARC region during the 52<sup>nd</sup> board of governors annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Fiji on Thursday, May 2. </span></p>
<p>
<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">Minister Khatiwada claimed that South Asia has a good reputation in the world economy but the region lags behind due to lack of inter-country road connectivity. He further said that the inter-country trade could have been increased up to three times had there been good network of roads to link the regional countries but due to lack of proper road connectivity, the trade between the countries is minimal.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He also informed the meeting that Nepal has achieved a historic feat by maintaining economic growth of more that 6 percent for three consecutive years.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He said that it was normal to bear trade deficit when the country has been achieving high economic growth rate.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">May 3: Finance Minister Yuva Raj Khatiwada has underscored the need of economic cooperation and financial interdependence to boost the economy of South Asia for the welfare of people and prosperity of the region. He made such remarks while addressing the 13<sup>th</sup> meeting of the finance ministers of SAARC region during the 52<sup>nd</sup> board of governors annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Fiji on Thursday, May 2. </span></p>
<p>
<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">Minister Khatiwada claimed that South Asia has a good reputation in the world economy but the region lags behind due to lack of inter-country road connectivity. He further said that the inter-country trade could have been increased up to three times had there been good network of roads to link the regional countries but due to lack of proper road connectivity, the trade between the countries is minimal.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He also informed the meeting that Nepal has achieved a historic feat by maintaining economic growth of more that 6 percent for three consecutive years.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He said that it was normal to bear trade deficit when the country has been achieving high economic growth rate.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">May 3: Finance Minister Yuva Raj Khatiwada has underscored the need of economic cooperation and financial interdependence to boost the economy of South Asia for the welfare of people and prosperity of the region. He made such remarks while addressing the 13<sup>th</sup> meeting of the finance ministers of SAARC region during the 52<sup>nd</sup> board of governors annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Fiji on Thursday, May 2. </span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">Minister Khatiwada claimed that South Asia has a good reputation in the world economy but the region lags behind due to lack of inter-country road connectivity. He further said that the inter-country trade could have been increased up to three times had there been good network of roads to link the regional countries but due to lack of proper road connectivity, the trade between the countries is minimal.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He also informed the meeting that Nepal has achieved a historic feat by maintaining economic growth of more that 6 percent for three consecutive years.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS"">He said that it was normal to bear trade deficit when the country has been achieving high economic growth rate.</span></p>
