The buses were given tax rebate on VAT and customs duty.
The ministry has stated that the buses have not been brought into operation as they do not meet the specifications mentioned in the agreement with a local agent which imported the buses.

The buses were given tax rebate on VAT and customs duty.</p>
<p>
The ministry has stated that the buses have not been brought into operation as they do not meet the specifications mentioned in the agreement with a local agent which imported the buses.</p>
<p>
“We have written a letter to the agent to return the sub-standard buses and replace them with the ones which meet the specifications,” said Ghanshyam Upadhyay, joint-secretary at the ministry.</p>
