March 29: The Nepal Investment Summit organised by the government to attract foreign investment kicked off in Kathmandu on Friday, March 29.</p>

The two-day summit was inaugurated by Prime Minster KP Sharma Oli at Soaltee Crowne Plaza in Kathmandu amid a function.</p>
<p>
Nepal will be presenting a total 77 projects including 50 from the government and 27 from the private sector during the summit which will conclude on Saturday.</p>
<p>
The government has beefed up security in Kathmandu for the summit.</p>
<p>
Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada informed that more than 600 investors along with high-ranking officials from 40 countries are attending the summit</p>
<p>
Minister Khatiwada delivered the welcome remarks and also informed about the programme and areas of investment for development and prosperity in Nepal.</p>
<p>
The government is reportedly organising this summit to attain its goal of economic prosperity, which it has been championing ever since the formation of a majority government following last year’s elections.</p>
