March 1: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Api Power Company Ltd for purchasing 40 megawatts of electricity generated by the upper Chameliya Hydropower Project. NEA’s Managing Director Kulman Ghising and the company’s Executive Director Sanjib Neupane inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.</p>
<p>
According to a press statement issued by the company, it is the third project of the company in Darchula of Sudurpaschim Province. Prior to this, the company had been supplying electricity to the national transmission grid after completing the construction of Naugad Hydropower Project having production capacity of 8.5 megawatts.</p>
<p>
The company is expected to supply electricity by mid-April.</p>
