Nepal actually does have the potential to achieve a seven percent economic growth rate or more, like our two immediate neighbours – India and China. But in the present situation of political instability and uncertainty, it seems an almost impossible target.

We must focus on our major sectors such as agriculture, tourism, water resource etc if we are to attain speedy economic growth. We must increase our domestic production significantly if we are to achieve such a high growth rate. Increased domestic production will not only help reduce the ever-rising imports of several products but will also help us earn foreign currency by increased exports. Likewise, we must also be able to develop our education, health and social sectors.

Finally, the government should create an investment-friendly environment by introducing matching policies and ensuring the security of investment – foreign as well as domestic.

'comment' => 'Yes sir,you are absolutely right nepal can achieve such a high growth just like our two economic giant neighbours, India and China. Beside the major sectors you have indicated, I think Government of Nepal should also develop friendly policies for expansion of real estate sectors. We can see that various developed countries have very developed real estate sectors from where investors can get a very good return and it has ultimately helped to rise their real GDP. However, expansion of such real estate sectors has harmed in previous years but I think now Nepal Rastriya Bank has to little loosen their policies on real estate sector. Nepal's GDP mostly comprises of agriculture and tourism sector, so it would be beneficial if real estate sector could add some more value to the GDP.
We can see that the China's GDP includes only 10.1% from agricultural sector and both the inustry and service sector comprises of more than 40%. So, to achieve such staggering figures like China, development of service and industries sectors are must.
Yes, i agree with you that producion of domestic products is important for nepal. In one hand it reduces our dependency of products on foreign countries and in other hand we can take advantage of rising dollar prices by exporting our nepali products. So, now the government needs to expand our "export basket" of goods and services to increase export. Increasing our Net Exports helps us to increase our GDP and earn more foreign currency',

Yes, i agree with you that producion of domestic products is important for nepal. In one hand it reduces our dependency of products on foreign countries and in other hand we can take advantage of rising dollar prices by exporting our nepali products. ‘Nepal Has The Potential To Achieve 7% Growth Rate’

Can Nepal Achieve 7 per cent Economic Growth Rate?
‘Nepal has the potential to achieve 7% growth rate’
Nepal actually does have the potential to achieve a seven percent economic growth rate or more, like our two immediate neighbours – India and China. But in the present situation of political instability and uncertainty, it seems an almost impossible target. The World Bank has estimated Nepal’s economic growth to be not more than 3.8 per cent in the current fiscal year.
