<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Hari Kumar Nepal, Deputy Director of Financial Information Unit, Nepal Rastra Bank &nbsp;and chief speaker of the event said that the government is fully committed to control any form of financial crime including money laundering and tax evasion. &ldquo;Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AML/TF) is now not issue of Nepal only but it has dragged attention of governments all over the world and other international organizations,&rdquo; he said adding, &ldquo;Government of Nepal is serious on this matter and leaves no stone unturned to eradicate such practices.&rdquo; He also stressed that Money laundering has worsen not only the business sector only but also politics and administration.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&#39;Surveys show that more than 3.6 % of global GDP is earned through criminal activities. If we add amount of tax evasion to it, the result is shockingly high,&#39; Nepal added, &ldquo;But one has to be aware of the fact that each and every business started with black money is a crime. And, one cannot get peace of mind with black money.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&ldquo;Although we still lack concrete measures of financial crimes in Nepal, there is very few chance that one can escape from this crime,&rdquo; he said, &ldquo;Tax evasion supported by corruption is the biggest challenge of Nepal. It starts right from a general landlord to show low rental charge to evade tax. So, it is very much difficult to bring this all in track.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to Nepal, the government has introduced some of the measures to check money laundering. &ldquo;We will soon have regulations like prohibition of cash transaction higher than 10 lakh rupees and not allowing saving account for business transactions. We hope that this will contribute in controlling money laundering,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The event was followed by an interaction session where young entrepreneurs and EO members shared their view on how business sector can work together with government to implement the measures to control financial crimes.</p>

The fair have handicrafts, tourism, information technology, agricultural products, energy, construction, education, medicines and iron and steel stalls. Similarly, the fair also includes various stalls of readymade dresses, leather products, new technology and equipments, food items, furniture, fashion wear, home decor and service sectors.</p>

The technology will make every Nepali household smoke free, said the ministry. The government has claimed of making Nepal indoor smoke free within 2022 by promoting advance bio energy and ensuring reach of advance clean energy to each household by using solid fuel by 2030.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, Dr Chiranjivi Nepal, Governor of the NRB criticized Nepali MFs of exploiting the public financially rather than helping in elimination of poverty. He pledged that microfinance fleecing the public would be brought to book.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Unable to pay the fine, many companies were struggling to cancel their company registration. 40 per cent out of 63,000 companies registered till date are defunct, informed Company Registrar Office.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The parliamentary meeting has modified the Act with a mechanism that compel telecommunication companies with above 500 million paid-up capital to issue shares to general public. The companies will have to transform in public companies within next two years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The act has also reduced the time limit for company registration.&nbsp; Earlier, it took 15 days to receive company registration certificate from the date of application submission which is now reduced to 7 seven days. Upon delay of registration, the registrar office should inform the company with reasons of delay within three days.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The amended Act has encouraged digital signature while proofing the documents required for company registration. Moreover, the number of shareholders has been increased to 101 from previous 50. Similarly, the board of directors of any company that have female shareholders must include at least one female director.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Hari Kumar Nepal, Deputy Director of Financial Information Unit, Nepal Rastra Bank &nbsp;and chief speaker of the event said that the government is fully committed to control any form of financial crime including money laundering and tax evasion. &ldquo;Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AML/TF) is now not issue of Nepal only but it has dragged attention of governments all over the world and other international organizations,&rdquo; he said adding, &ldquo;Government of Nepal is serious on this matter and leaves no stone unturned to eradicate such practices.&rdquo; He also stressed that Money laundering has worsen not only the business sector only but also politics and administration.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&#39;Surveys show that more than 3.6 % of global GDP is earned through criminal activities. If we add amount of tax evasion to it, the result is shockingly high,&#39; Nepal added, &ldquo;But one has to be aware of the fact that each and every business started with black money is a crime. And, one cannot get peace of mind with black money.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&ldquo;Although we still lack concrete measures of financial crimes in Nepal, there is very few chance that one can escape from this crime,&rdquo; he said, &ldquo;Tax evasion supported by corruption is the biggest challenge of Nepal. It starts right from a general landlord to show low rental charge to evade tax. So, it is very much difficult to bring this all in track.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to Nepal, the government has introduced some of the measures to check money laundering. &ldquo;We will soon have regulations like prohibition of cash transaction higher than 10 lakh rupees and not allowing saving account for business transactions. We hope that this will contribute in controlling money laundering,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The event was followed by an interaction session where young entrepreneurs and EO members shared their view on how business sector can work together with government to implement the measures to control financial crimes.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The Nepal Chapter of EO has been working as the catalyst to enable leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow, leading to greater success in business and beyond. 			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">March 15: The 4th National Microfinance Summit has kicked off in the capital from today. The Summit was organized by the Center for Microfinance (CMF).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara inaugurated the three day summit. The Summit will be participated by more than 800 participants from government, microfinance institutions, development partners, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and beneficiaries.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In the inauguration program, Minister Mahara stressed the need to work on economic empowerment by consolidating the rural economy and regularizing the microfinance sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Mahara highlighted the role of the microfinance in strengthening the rural and socialist economy and bringing the public under the ambit of financial awareness and literacy.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, Dr Chiranjivi Nepal, Governor of the NRB criticized Nepali MFs of exploiting the public financially rather than helping in elimination of poverty. He pledged that microfinance fleecing the public would be brought to book.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Unable to pay the fine, many companies were struggling to cancel their company registration. 40 per cent out of 63,000 companies registered till date are defunct, informed Company Registrar Office.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The parliamentary meeting has modified the Act with a mechanism that compel telecommunication companies with above 500 million paid-up capital to issue shares to general public. The companies will have to transform in public companies within next two years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The act has also reduced the time limit for company registration.&nbsp; Earlier, it took 15 days to receive company registration certificate from the date of application submission which is now reduced to 7 seven days. Upon delay of registration, the registrar office should inform the company with reasons of delay within three days.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The amended Act has encouraged digital signature while proofing the documents required for company registration. Moreover, the number of shareholders has been increased to 101 from previous 50. Similarly, the board of directors of any company that have female shareholders must include at least one female director.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Hari Kumar Nepal, Deputy Director of Financial Information Unit, Nepal Rastra Bank &nbsp;and chief speaker of the event said that the government is fully committed to control any form of financial crime including money laundering and tax evasion. &ldquo;Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AML/TF) is now not issue of Nepal only but it has dragged attention of governments all over the world and other international organizations,&rdquo; he said adding, &ldquo;Government of Nepal is serious on this matter and leaves no stone unturned to eradicate such practices.&rdquo; He also stressed that Money laundering has worsen not only the business sector only but also politics and administration.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&#39;Surveys show that more than 3.6 % of global GDP is earned through criminal activities. If we add amount of tax evasion to it, the result is shockingly high,&#39; Nepal added, &ldquo;But one has to be aware of the fact that each and every business started with black money is a crime. And, one cannot get peace of mind with black money.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&ldquo;Although we still lack concrete measures of financial crimes in Nepal, there is very few chance that one can escape from this crime,&rdquo; he said, &ldquo;Tax evasion supported by corruption is the biggest challenge of Nepal. It starts right from a general landlord to show low rental charge to evade tax. So, it is very much difficult to bring this all in track.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to Nepal, the government has introduced some of the measures to check money laundering. &ldquo;We will soon have regulations like prohibition of cash transaction higher than 10 lakh rupees and not allowing saving account for business transactions. We hope that this will contribute in controlling money laundering,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The event was followed by an interaction session where young entrepreneurs and EO members shared their view on how business sector can work together with government to implement the measures to control financial crimes.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The Nepal Chapter of EO has been working as the catalyst to enable leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow, leading to greater success in business and beyond. <p style="text-align: justify;">Unable to pay the fine, many companies were struggling to cancel their company registration. 40 per cent out of 63,000 companies registered till date are defunct, informed Company Registrar Office.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The parliamentary meeting has modified the Act with a mechanism that compel telecommunication companies with above 500 million paid-up capital to issue shares to general public. The companies will have to transform in public companies within next two years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The act has also reduced the time limit for company registration.&nbsp; Earlier, it took 15 days to receive company registration certificate from the date of application submission which is now reduced to 7 seven days. Upon delay of registration, the registrar office should inform the company with reasons of delay within three days.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The amended Act has encouraged digital signature while proofing the documents required for company registration. Moreover, the number of shareholders has been increased to 101 from previous 50. Similarly, the board of directors of any company that have female shareholders must include at least one female director.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Hari Kumar Nepal, Deputy Director of Financial Information Unit, Nepal Rastra Bank &nbsp;and chief speaker of the event said that the government is fully committed to control any form of financial crime including money laundering and tax evasion. &ldquo;Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AML/TF) is now not issue of Nepal only but it has dragged attention of governments all over the world and other international organizations,&rdquo; he said adding, &ldquo;Government of Nepal is serious on this matter and leaves no stone unturned to eradicate such practices.&rdquo; He also stressed that Money laundering has worsen not only the business sector only but also politics and administration.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&#39;Surveys show that more than 3.6 % of global GDP is earned through criminal activities. If we add amount of tax evasion to it, the result is shockingly high,&#39; Nepal added, &ldquo;But one has to be aware of the fact that each and every business started with black money is a crime. And, one cannot get peace of mind with black money.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&ldquo;Although we still lack concrete measures of financial crimes in Nepal, there is very few chance that one can escape from this crime,&rdquo; he said, &ldquo;Tax evasion supported by corruption is the biggest challenge of Nepal. It starts right from a general landlord to show low rental charge to evade tax. So, it is very much difficult to bring this all in track.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to Nepal, the government has introduced some of the measures to check money laundering. &ldquo;We will soon have regulations like prohibition of cash transaction higher than 10 lakh rupees and not allowing saving account for business transactions. We hope that this will contribute in controlling money laundering,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The event was followed by an interaction session where young entrepreneurs and EO members shared their view on how business sector can work together with government to implement the measures to control financial crimes.</p>

The companies can cancel their registration by paying prescribed fee, overdue fine or 1 per cent of paid-up capital whichever is lower.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Unable to pay the fine, many companies were struggling to cancel their company registration. 40 per cent out of 63,000 companies registered till date are defunct, informed Company Registrar Office.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The parliamentary meeting has modified the Act with a mechanism that compel telecommunication companies with above 500 million paid-up capital to issue shares to general public. The companies will have to transform in public companies within next two years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The act has also reduced the time limit for company registration.&nbsp; Earlier, it took 15 days to receive company registration certificate from the date of application submission which is now reduced to 7 seven days. Upon delay of registration, the registrar office should inform the company with reasons of delay within three days.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The amended Act has encouraged digital signature while proofing the documents required for company registration. Moreover, the number of shareholders has been increased to 101 from previous 50. Similarly, the board of directors of any company that have female shareholders must include at least one female director.&nbsp;</p>
